Youth Biblical Contests

Jun 23, 2012 | Bible Ministry, Centroamérica, Youth & Vocations Ministry

San Salvador, El Salvador. With the theme: “We are the new generation of the Word”, the SEBIJUCLA (Servico Bíblico Juvenil Claretiano) Team and the students of the theologate of the Province of Central America have published a meeting notice for the Youth Biblical Contests of 2012.

Through this initiative, the Claretian Missionaries seek to “take the Word of God to the young, with its power to convert anguish into peace, rancor into love, despair into hope, apathy into diligence, the oppression into freedom, solitude into community.” The response to this initiative will contribute to a pastoral ministry from, for, by, and with young people, founded on the Word of God.

The contests include the categories of drawing, painting, essay and video, based on a community reading of the text of the Magnificat (Luke 1: 46-56).

The works will be evaluated according to: their artistic mastery, creativity, the adaptation of texts to the world of youth, their possibility of being used in evangelization, and their community context.

For this contest, the squads are the youth groups of the Diocese of Santiago de María, of the parishes of Corazón de María (Escalón), San José (Villanueva), San José Obrero (El Cortés), the projects of PROCLADE (Armenia) and the Claretian Vocation Ministry.

The results of the contest will be known on September 30, 2012.
