Claretian Centenal in Peru

Dec 8, 2009 | Claretian Family, Perú - Bolivia

Perú. Peru. On December 7, eve of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin, the Claretians of Peru celebrate the 100 years of their arrival to this country. The foundation was approved by the General Government on June 26, 1909, after insistent petitions of the Bishops for the Congregation of the Sons of the Heart of Mary to assume the disciplinary, spiritual and scientific direction of the Conciliar Seminary.

The first community was afforded a very warm reception and from the very beginning the Bishops put in it all their trust and were never disappointed.

At present the Claretians in Peru constitute a Delegation composed of 1 Bishop, 35 Priests (19 of them Peruvian), 1 Brother, 3 students (2 of them are Peruvians) and 1 Novice (Peruvian).

We implore that Mary Immaculate continue protecting them in the missionary road they will continue going through.
