Kupang, Indonesia. The XIV Week of Consecrated Life 2024 brought together men and women from across Indonesia in a virtual gathering focused on the theme “Towards the Renewal of Consecrated Life: Rooted, Growing, and Bearing Fruit.” Hosted online via Zoom from February 1-3, 2024, the event was moderated by Fr. Kristian Paskalis Cangkung, CMF.
Fr. Dr. Valens Agino, CMF, initiated the event with a presentation on “Becoming a Disciple of the Master by Rooting, Growing, and Bearing Fruit.” He emphasized the need for steadfastness in the face of today’s fast-paced and uncertain world. Sr. Yosita Sri Murtini, CB, followed with a discussion on “Digital Formation in Consecrated Life Today,” stressing the importance of proper formation to counter the negative effects of the digital age.
During the second day, Fr. Dr. Agustinus Supur, CMF, explored the “Spirituality of Consecrated Life” in his presentation titled “Religius en Theos,” urging religious individuals to deepen their connection with God. Sr. M. Immaculata Silalahi, SFD, shared insights on the “Spirituality and Mission of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis Dina,” offering anecdotes about their founding mother and the mission of the SFD sisters in Indonesia.
On the third day, Fr. Dr. Viktor Doddy Sau Sasi, CMF, discussed “Leadership in Consecrated Life,” focusing on the importance of authority and order in religious institutions. Sr. Afra Primadiana, FCJ, concluded the event with a presentation titled “Authority and Leadership in Consecrated Life,” outlining principles and approaches to effective leadership in the context of consecrated life.
The Week of Consecrated Life provided a platform for profound reflections and discussions, offering valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing consecrated individuals and communities in today’s world.
