Buenos Aires, Argentina. On October 15, 2026, Editorial Claretiana celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding with a gathering of gratitude, remembrance, and renewed missionary commitment at the Santa Casa de Ejercicios Espirituales, founded by Saint Mama Antula. Under the theme “Celebrating Our History, Rekindling Our Mission,” the event brought together authors, collaborators, staff members, and Church representatives.
The celebration began with a Eucharist presided over by Bishop Juan José Chaparro of Merlo-Moreno and concelebrated by several priests, including Fr. José Alejandro Abarza, CMF, Provincial Superior of San José del Sur; Fr. Ovidio Ortigoza, CMF; and former leaders of the publishing house.
One of the most meaningful moments was the Procession of Memory and Mission, during which symbols representing seven decades of history were presented: the Bible, historical and recent publications, printing tools, a digital device, and books ready for distribution.
In his homily, Fr. José Alejandro Abarza, CMF, recalled that Editorial Claretiana was “born to evangelize.” He highlighted the legacy of Fr. Alfonso Milagro, CMF, and his renowned book Los cinco minutos de Dios (The Five Minutes of God), which has reached more than two million households. He also encouraged embracing new forms of communication and digital technologies while remaining faithful to the missionary charism.
The celebration continued with an exhibition entitled “Memory and Mission,” featuring photographs, publications, and testimonies documenting the publishing house’s journey. Later, its director, Bro. Ezequiel Takaya, CMF, together with members of the Management Council, reflected on current challenges and future opportunities.
A particularly moving moment was the recognition of Rubén González for 25 years of service and Oscar D’Angelo for 50 years of dedication to the publishing mission.
The anniversary concluded with a fraternal toast and the cutting of the commemorative cake, reaffirming the commitment to continue spreading the Word of God through contemporary media and forms of communication.
Seventy years after its founding, Editorial Claretiana renews its vocation to evangelize through books, culture, and communication, keeping the flame of the Claretian charism alive.
