Buckden, England. On Monday February 7 an Encounter, convened by the General Prefect of the Apostolate, Fr. Miguel A. Velasco, was held here. It was attended by the Prefects of the Apostolate of the Major Organisms in Europe, the Heads of Vocations Ministry and several other Claretians bringing with them their specialist knowledge. 21 Claretians in total who represented the reality of the Claretian presence in Europe.
Host of the event was Fr. Chris Newman, Major Superior of the Delegation of the United Kingdom and Ireland who, apart from pronouncing words of welcome, gave a presentation on the history and reality of the Claretian presence in this region.
Apart from periods of prayer and fellowship, during the Encounter thoughts were shared on the situation in Europe and the challenges it presents to our work of evangelization. Guided by XXIV General Chapter, the intention was to develop proposals for different areas of our ministry.
