Ariccia, Italy. Father General, Mathew Vattamatam, CMF, was elected Member of the Executive Council of the Union of Superiors General (USG) during the 91st USG Biannual and General Assembly held at the Ariccia Casa Divino Maestro in Ariccia from 21 to 23 November 2018. The Council is headed by the newly elected President, Society of Jesus Superior General, Fr. Arturo Sosa, SJ and with newly elected Vice President, Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer Superior General, Fr. Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R.. He joins the other council members: Fr. Pedro Aguado, Sch.P. (Superior General of the Order of the Pious Schools), Fr. Mauro Leopori (General Abbot of the Common Observance), Fr. Laurentius Tarpin (Master General of the Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross), Fr. Alejandro Moral (Prior General of the Order of St. Agustine), Fr. Ángel Fernández (Rector Major of the Society of St Francis de Sales), Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie (Superior General of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus), Fr. Valdir José de Castro (Superior General of the Society of St. Paul), Fr. Tomaž Mavrič (Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and of the Company of the Daughters of Charity), and Br.
