Nkué, Equatorial Guinea. From 5 to 10 July 2026, the Claretian Missionaries of Delegación Padre XIFRÉ took part in a formation and empowerment workshop under the theme, “Leaders with Hearts on Fire.” The workshop was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Jude Thaddeus LANGEH, CMF, who was sent by the General Government to accompany the formation programme.
He was joined by Conrad ATANGANA ESSOMBA, CMF, and Frédéric PEYOU KPOUMIE, CMF, both from Cameroon Delegation, as well as Alipio UMÓ SEPA, CMF, and Boris MBA OBAME, CMF. The initiative followed a decision made during the Fourth Ordinary Assembly of the 2025-2028 triennium to place special emphasis on the formation of the members of the Organism.
The workshop began with a prayerful and reflective reading of the account of the disciples on the road to Emmaus in the Gospel according to Luke 24:14-35. Inspired by this passage, the participants were invited to set out on a journey, examine the context in which they live, and discern the challenges of the mission of evangelization.
The programme was developed through twelve modules covering the leadership of Jesus and Mary, Claretian leadership, discernment, the transition from “I” to “we,” leadership roles and competencies, crisis management, and leadership in the digital world, among other topics.
Following the formation programme, the Council of the Delegation and the coordinators of the different prefectures presented brief reports on their activities, highlighting the objectives already achieved and the work that remains to be done in accordance with the commitments made at the beginning of the triennium. Participants also raised questions and received clarifications from the prefects and the Major Superior.
The gathering took place in a fraternal atmosphere, enriched by moments of prayer, community life, and rest. The Delegation gave thanks to God for this experience and encouraged each participant to put the lessons learned into practice in the exercise of authority, understood as a discerning ecclesial service.
