Sorrento, Italy. From October 1 to 3, 2026, the General Government set aside three days for prayer, study, and reflection in preparation for its intensive session. The gathering took place at the Franciscan Sisters Immacolatine’s Oasi Madre della Pace, a peaceful setting that fostered discernment and fraternity in the heart of Sorrento.
Guided by Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, the members engaged in a shared process of learning and reflection. Each participant presented key insights from different sections of the document, leading to meaningful discussions on how its teachings can enrich and inspire the Congregation’s life and mission.
The group also reflected on a document of the International Theological Commission concerning care for creation and its implications for the Church today. These sessions encouraged a deeper appreciation of ecological responsibility as an essential dimension of Christian witness.
The days were further enriched by moments of common prayer with the religious sisters and the daily celebration of the Holy Eucharist, creating a spirit of communion and renewal as the General Government prepared for the work that lay ahead.
