9th General Assembly of Antillas Renews Missionary Commitment

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. From May 12 to 16, 2025, the 9th Ordinary General Assembly of the Claretian Missionaries of the Delegation of Antillas took place in Santo Domingo, gathering 46 missionaries from Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. The meeting aimed to evaluate the Delegation’s journey and to plan its mission for the 2025–2028 triennium.

Under the theme “Rooted in Christ, let us proclaim the Gospel of hope in Antillas,” the Assembly unfolded in a spirit of prayer, discernment, and fraternal communion, accompanied by Fr. Carlos Sánchez Miranda, CMF, delegate of the Superior General.

A highlight was the announcement of the new leadership team:

  • Fr. Fausto Cruz Rosa, CMF – Major Superior
  • Fr. Jairo Antonio Pérez del Rosario, CMF – Consultor and Prefect of Economy
  • Fr. Maxo Deraxin, CMF – Consultor
  • Fr. Luis Enrique Ortiz, CMF – Consultor

The Assembly also celebrated 25 years of Claretian presence in Haiti and expressed gratitude for the missionary service throughout the region. In his final message, Fr. Fausto Cruz, CMF, urged Claretians to “listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd” and to center their lives on Christ.

The Assembly concluded with a renewed commitment to continue proclaiming the Gospel from the realities of the Antilles.
