New Major Superior Elected for the Province of Santiago

Los Negrales, Madrid (Spain). On December 31, 2012 at 6:35pm the new Provincial Superior of the Claretian Missionaries of Santiago was elected: Fr. Luis Ángel de las Heras, CMF (photo).

Fr. Luis Ángel was born in Segovia on June 14, 1963. At the age of 14 he entered the minor seminary of the Province of Castile in Segovia. He made his first profession at Los Negrales on September 8, 1982 and his perpetual profession on April 26, 1986, the year in which he finished his Licentiate in Ecclesiastical Studies at the Estudio Teológico Claretiano. In 1992 he obtained a Licentiate in Educational Sciences at the Universidad de Comillas. On October 29, 1988 he was ordained a Priest.

In the Province of Castile he carried out various ministries, offering his services in Youth Ministry, as Pastor, and as Formator of many generations and many formandi coming from diverse cultures.

Since 2007, and up until his election in the II Chapter of the Province of Santiago, he served as Provincial Vicar and Prefect of Formation.
