Aug 1, 2022 | México, Ordinations

Toluca, Mexico. After twelve years of preparation, on July 30, 2022, in the Temple of Santa Veracruz, Toluca, State of Mexico, the Claretian Province of México celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm the priestly ordination of Edgar Alejandro Salgado Tapia, CMF, through the imposition of hands of Bishop Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico.

Edgar’s family, friends, relatives, and guests accompanied Edgar and witnessed this important event in his life. After the Gospel reading, Edgar was called by name and presented to the bishop by the Provincial Superior. In his homily, the bishop commented that a year ago he ordained him as a Deacon, and that day he ordains him as a Presbyter. He also spoke about the importance of this ministry and emphasized that “the priesthood is not one’s own, but God’s through someone”, after this, the rite of ordination proper began.

At the end of the celebration, the newly ordained addressed a few words of gratitude to his blood family, his religious family, friends, and other attendees. After which, the church was filled with the echoes of the long round of applause for the newly ordained.
