Preparation for Perpetual Profession
Bengaluru, India. Prior to the celebrations of Perpetual Profession, the ASCLA West Conference organized a month-long intensive preparation program at the Novitiate House, Bengaluru, from 29 April to 25 May 2026. Fifteen students participated in the program: three from Bangalore, three from Kolkata, two from St. Joseph Vaz, and seven from St. Thomas.
The preparation followed the FORGE method and was guided by the stages of Quid Prodest, Patris Mei, Caritas Christi, and Spiritus Domini. The program included prayer, reflection, pilgrimage, community experience, service exposure at a palliative care centre, and a Christ-awareness retreat animated by Fr. Mariadoss. The participants were accompanied by Frs. Michael Mariadoss, L. Anthony, James Kannanthanam, Arokia Basanio, Paulson Veliyannoor, and Michael Plamparambil, with the support of Fr. Xavier Pereira on behalf of the Province of Bangalore.
