Roma. Convened by the Union of Superiors General (USG) and the International Union of Superiors General (IUGS), from 7-11 February, 2011 a Symposium on the Theology of Religious Life was held in Rome, entitled “Theology of Consecrated Life. Identity and significance of Apostolic Religious Life. “10 Superiors were in attendance, including Fr. Josep M ª Abella, CMF and 10 femalde Superiors General.
Moreover, 15 theologians were brought together, proposed by the USG and 15 theologians proposed by the IUGS. Among the prominent theologians were Fr Samuel Canilang, CMF, Director of ICLA in Manila. Also there was Fr Bonifacio Fernández CMF, representing the Institute of the Theology of Religious Life in Madrid.The results of these reflections will be discussed by the Superiors General of the USG which will meet in Assembly in May.
