Vavuniya, Sri Lanka. VAROD (Vanni Rehabilitation for the Differently Abled) has been one of the missions of the Claretian Missionaries in Sri Lanka since 2009. This mission is primarily for the differently-abled and war-affected people.

VAROD annually holds a sports meet for the differently-abled to support them to be integrated with society, acquire vital social skills, develop independence, and become empowered. It also acts as a tool to boost their confidence and improve their self-esteem.

This year, the sports meet for its beneficiaries under institutional and community-based rehabilitation took place on April 30, 2022. Two hundred seventy athletes participated from three districts in the northern part of Sri Lanka in 59 sports events designed especially for the differently-abled.
