Bangalore, India. The XI Provincial Chapter of the Claretian Province of Bangalore began on September 10, 2026, bringing together 45 capitulars for prayer, discernment, and reflection under the theme, “Renewed in the Spirit – One Mission, One in Mission.” The Chapter is presided over by the General Prefect of Spirituality and Community Life.
The Chapter invites the Province to renew its missionary commitment through deeper communion, attentive listening, and openness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. A message from the Superior General, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, was shared with the assembly, encouraging the capitulars as they undertake this important moment of discernment for the life and mission of the Province.
Fr. Thomas Thennadiyil, CMF, was elected Secretary, while Fr. Paulson Veliyannoor, CMF, was appointed Facilitator. Other members were also entrusted with responsibilities in support of the Chapter.
A significant focus of the opening phase has been spiritual preparation. Through Chapter Recollection – I and Conversations in the Spirit, the capitulars were invited to listen deeply to one another, discern together, and remain attentive to the movement of the Spirit. The celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation further emphasized the call to personal conversion and communal renewal.
Through its theme, the XI Provincial Chapter calls the Claretian Province of Bangalore to strengthen fraternity, renew missionary zeal, and move forward together in the spirit of St. Anthony Mary Claret.
