Youth Day in Nanpula, Mozambique

Nov 21, 2022 | Mozambique, MICLA

A four day Youth Day was conducted in the city of Nampula, Mozambique. The opening ceremony of the event was preceded by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Dom Inácio Saúre, Archbishop of Nampula and President of the Episcopal Conference of Mozambique (CEM), and in which Dom Atanásio Canira and Dom Inácio Lucas, Bishops of Lichinga and Gurué, concelebrated respectively, as well as several priests.

In his speech for the opening of the event, Dom Inácio Saure invited young people to let themselves be touched by Christ, in order to become younger, cultivating friendship and universal fraternity, in a society where there is a lot of manipulation of youth.

Dear young people, do you want to do good for Mozambique and the world? – The prelate questioned the young people, continuing his speech, and in response to the “yes” of the youth present in the place, he appealed to this group not to let themselves be instrumentalized by anyone.

“We have found the Messiah (Jn 1:41)! – Accompany young people in the Church and in society today”, was the theme that guided the youth activities during the 2nd National Youth Day – JNJ.
