Kupang, Indonesia. The Hati Maria Seminary was the place of first encounter with the Claretians who work in vocational youth ministry in Southeast Asia.
The meeting was proposed to energize this priority in the ASCLA East Organisms and prepare for the continental meeting to be held in Manila in June of 2013, together with the Organisms of the ASCLA West region.
There were 11 participants, representing the Claretians of Taiwan, the Philippines, and Indonesia-Timor East. The richness of the diversity of cultures and situations was experienced and an occasion to taste the Claretian spirit that inspires this work. These were three days of intense coexistence in which they shared experiences and hopes which generated the first proposals to start a path to work together.
During the encounter in Kupang, the participants were able to share in the daily life of the 68 seminarians of the pre-novitiate and 23 of the community of professed.
At the same time, this opportunity has led to the formal commissioning of the animation team for the vocational youth ministry of the Delegation of Indonesia-Timor East. All of this has been a moment of grace on this occasion of being elevated to the category of Independent Delegation after 7 years of Claretian presence.
