Jul 24, 2019 | Cameroun, Youth & Vocations Ministry

Douala, Cameroon. The second edition of the Claretian Youth Camp of Cameroun with the theme “Happy the peacemakers, they will be called the sons of the Most High” (Mt 5, 9) took place from July 17 to 21 July 2019 at the St. Gregory the Great Parish of Ndobo in Bonabérie, Archdiocese of Douala.

One hundred and eighteen young people from eight of Cameroun’s parishes underwent teaching moments on “Gaudete et exultate” and “Christus Vivit”; listened to educational talks on “Youth and Sexuality” and on “Youth and Drug Use: Impact and Consequences”. Since most of them were young students and hustlers, they also discussed on young entrepreneurship. An ample time has been given to talk about the Congregation and the importance of interculturality for a better life together.

Under the supervision of Fr. Honoré Kenfack Meli, CMF assisted by two confreres in theology and two sisters of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate, the camp was also packed with various competitions: Biblical Quiz, traditional dances, Mr. and Miss, choir competition, art and crafts competition, and a mini football and handball tournament.

The camp ended with joy with a closing Mass presided over by Fr. Frédéric Kpoumie, CMF, Prefect of Youth and Vocational Ministry of the Delegation.
