ASCLA East Solidarity and Mission Message

We, the members of the Claretian Family and Lay Mission Partners of ASCLA East gathered in Claret Retreat House in Quezon City, Philippines on November 5-9, 2018 for the Solidarity and Mission Training, after having prayed, discerned and underwent the training on the dynamics of the Congregation’s involvement in the United Nations; deepened our understanding of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation; and learned the nature and process of the Mission Procure, in order to make our mission relevant and effective, propose the following commitments to the ASCLA East and its mission partners:

  1. In the area of JPIC
    1. To promote the rights of the migrants and indigenous peoples, and those who are left behind in the society by journeying with them towards better condition of life
    2. To uphold the wellbeing of creation by practicing energy and water conservation, lessening the use of non-biodegradable materials, waste management, and advocating ecological initiatives
    3. To involve ourselves in all mission areas through prayer, networking, and sharing of resources in the spirit of shared mission
  2. In the area of our presence in the United Nations
    1. To promote awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations through campaign and cooperation with other groups
    2. To integrate the Sustainable Development Goals in the Action Plan and Formation Plan of the Organisms
    3. To use the UN Instruments (Declarations, Treatise, Documents) and its systems in the defense of the rights of the different sectors
  3. In the area of Mission Procure
    1. To organize the Mission Procure in the Organisms to engage sustainably the evangelizing mission of the congregation
    2. To collaborate with the General Mission Procure in order to consolidate, monitor, enhance our resources and missionary efforts
    3. To promote projects that are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals that express our communion, solidarity and empowerment of the marginalized and the care for our common home

Therefore, we implore the grace of the Almighty God through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Anthony Mary Claret that these aspirations of the Solidarity and Mission Training in ASCLA East on JPIC, CMF-UN, and Mission Procure may be realized.
