Madrid, Spain. The Conference of Spanish Bishops has now decided upon the date and place of the beatification of a numerous group of “Martyrs of the XX Century in Spain”. It will take place in the City of Tarragona on October 27, 2013 to conclude the “Year of Faith”.
The decision for the location fell upon Tarragona, which has a solid tradition of martyrs going back to the first centuries of the history of Christianity and also in the XX Century, welcoming the supreme testimony of numerous faithful who shed their blood for Christ during the Spanish persecution of 1936.
Among the Martyrs who will be beatified, are 23 missionaries from our Congregation who sacrificed their lives in Sigüenza, Fernán Caballero, and in the city Tarragona.
