Spaichingen, Germany. The X Provincial Chapter of the Province of Deutschland started on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Dreifaltigkeitsberg House in Spaichingen. Following the discernment process and the different phases of the celebration of the Chapter, Fr. Callistus Y. P. Joseph, CMF, was at the morning session of Wednesday, February 9, 2022, re-elected as the Provincial Superior for the next six years.

Fr. Callistus is a native of Kandy, Sri Lanka, born on July 7, 1964. He made his First Profession on July 19, 1985, and made his Final Vows on July 16, 1991. He spent his theological formation in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Germany. At the end of his initial formation, he was ordained a priest on May 16, 1992.

After his time at the Pallottine Pastoral Theological Institute in Friedberg (Diocese of Augsburg), Father Callistus volunteered to work in South Sudan. There he accompanied the people on the way to their country’s independence in 2011 and remained committed to peace and development. He stayed on the ground for five years, coordinating the development projects of “Solidarity with South Sudan,” an association of more than 200 religious congregations.

We congratulate our newly elected Provincial Superior of Deutschland. We wish you all the best as you bring the whole Province into fulfilling the dream of the Province and the Congregation and encourage each member to be rooted in Christ and audacious in the mission.
