Quibdó, Colombia. From the 10 – 14th of January, 2012 in Quibdó, Colombia the first encounter of the Claretian Biblical Team was held, organized by the General Prefect of the Apostolate.
In addition to Fr. Miguel A. Velaso, General Prefect of the Apostolate, who presided at the meeting, were the permanent members of the team: the coordinator, Alejandro Gobrin (Colombia – Venezuela), Gonzalo de la Torre Guerro (Colombia – Venezuela), Emeterio Chaparro Lillo (Santiago), Henry Omonisaye (West Nigeria), and Arul Robin J. (Chennai).
In addition, various Claretians from the host Province were invited: Fr. Javier Pulgarin, Superior Provincial; Agustin Monroy, Director of FUCLA, Luis Armando Valencia, Prefect of the Apostolate, and Juan Bautista Flores, Prefect of Spirituality, who was pressed into service as secretary of the encounter.
To them were added the Fr. José Vidal of Central America; Louie Guades, from the Philippines, who coordinates the web page of the team; and Jesus Afonso Flores, a layman of Quibdó who helped the group to situate themselves into the history and reality of Colombia.
The encounter brought together the consolidation of the biblical team, the creation and implementation of a web site with biblical materials in support of the congregational mission, as well as the biblical animation of the different pastoral ministries in which the Claretians are involved.
