Claretian Youth of Mocambique

In preparation for the Claretian Youth Jubilee, the formation team: Sr. Salomé Sotchi and the young formators, Benigna, Sétimo and Yainexi, held an intensive formation session on the practice of LECTIO DIVINA with young people from 10 to 15 May 2025. The aim is to bring young people to an encounter with God through His Word in order to awaken the hope of youth that is confused in today’s society. The formation took place in the parishes of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Mupa, St. Peter Claver in Muiane, Our Lady of the Annunciation in Moneia and St. Josephine Bakita in Gilé, with 85 young people participating.These were days of much learning, personal and community spiritual experiences. We felt the willingness and expectation of the young people, their great interest and active participation, openness and sincerity in sharing. They were very happy. The young people contributed positively during the training and felt committed to continuing what they had learned. The young people need more accompaniment for their human and spiritual growth. Therefore, the team has rethought its programme to be closer to the young people during the preparation for the Jubilee and on other days.
