Rome, Italy. The Provincial Encounter of the Italian Region of the Sanctus Paulus Province took place from March 29-30, 2022, at the General Curia of the Claretian Missionaries in Rome. They began with the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Parioli together with the parishioners. It was followed in the Aula Magna of the General Curia by the welcoming address of Fr Ricard Costa-Jussà, CMF, Provincial Superior, and Fr Angel Ochagavia, CMF, Local Superior of the Parioli Community.
The Local Superiors of the five Claretian houses of the Italian region of the Province had the opportunity to share with everyone the life and mission of their respective communities. The Provincial Government also shared information on the progress of the Province in various areas. Fr. Franco Incampo, CMF, the Regional Delegate of Italy, reported on the region’s progress at this particular time of reorganization. The participants also shared their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions for the region’s future. Some of the highlights were: interpersonal relationships, spiritual and community life, missionary projects, synodality with the laity, and interculturality in the community. Some of the Claretians of the region joined online during the two-day gathering.
Likewise, Fr. Manuel Tamargo, CMF, General Econome and Delegate to preside the First Provincial Chapter of Sanctus Paulus in August of this year, was with them on the first day and took the opportunity to share some time with them and to get to know better the reality of the region.
Finally, a time was allotted to present the book MINO that Fr. Angelo Cupini, CMF, and Emanuela Pizzardi of the Via Gaggio Community produced and printed with the Teka publishing house. This book, which was previously presented online, is a 368-page book, rich in numerous illustrations, which follows the itinerary of the intense artistic production of Fr. Maximino Cerezo Barredo, CMF, at the service of the Word translated into art to communicate to the poor the joy of the Kingdom.
