“Consecrated Life today”. VII Encounter of Spanish-speaking Religious Life in Rome

Feb 10, 2011 | Claretian Family, Congregation, Institutes of Consecrated Life

Roma. On the afternoon of February 3 the VII Encounter of Spanish-speaking Religious Life in Rome was held in the “Aula Magna” of the Claretianum Institute.
In the context of World Day for Consecrated Life, Claretian Publications of Madrid and the “Claretianum” Institute of Consecrated Life organized this encounter with the intention of promoting some of its publications and providing space for reflection.

This time, the encounter has revolved around the new book by Fr. José Rovira CMF, entitled “RELIGIOUS LIFE TODAY. Challenges-Vitality-Renewal”. The author, a professor at the “Claretianum” and other institutes in Rome, presents his book at a very opportune moment, because his carefully considered views contrast with the more pessimistic views that others have offered recently about consecrated life.

Alongside the author and his work, the following took part in the presidium: Fr Josep Mª Abella, Superior General of the Congregation, Mons Joseph Tobin, Secretary of the Congregation for Consecrated Life (CIVCSVA) Fr Jesus Alday, Director of Claretianum and Fr. Fernando Prado, Director of Claretian Publications.

Among the attendees were leading members of the CIVCSVA, the government of various congregations and institutes of consecrated life, members of the press, and religious from various Spanish-speaking nations resident in Rome.
