Rome, Italy. The second course for newlyappointed secretaries was held at the General Curia from May 11 to 18, 2026.Eleven secretaries from the different Major Organisms of the Congregation attended the course, namely: Guillermo Salamanca (Colombia Oriental-Ecuador Province), Samuel Kandula (Northeast India Province), Daniel Orlando Velasquez Mendoza (San José del Sur Province), Wilibrodus Kantul (Deutschland Province), Andrew Falajiki(West Nigeria Delegation), Juan Carlos Monroy Morales, (Fatima Province), Stephen Raj Moraes (St. Joseph Vaz Delegation), Sebin Scaria (St. Thomas Province), Yeremias Nardin, (Ave Maria Province), Domingos Kalembe Miguel, (Mae da Africa Delegation), and Michael Oladigui Olawy (St. Jean Paul II Delegation).
Through this course, the General Government expresses its commitment to ensuring that those who serve as secretaries in their respective Organisms are well-prepared, supported, and inspired in their mission. The program unfolded in two parts: theoretical formation and a series of workshop sessions. The first part was structured into three key areas—communication, the revised Manual of the Secretary, and essential canonical aspects. Participants were invited to delve more deeply into the heart of their missionary service. Together, they explored their roles with renewed clarity, discovered best practices, and reflected on the nuances of canonical norms and the proper law of the Congregation.

This learning experience was made even more interesting through the contributions of various General Curia offices, including the iClaret team, the Iuridicum team of canon lawyers, the General Procurator, the General Archivist, the Discerning Leadership Office, and the Secretary of Prefectures. Likewise, the generous collaboration of some Claretians in Specialization (C.I.S.) and the Curia community through logistics and translation created an atmosphere of true fraternity and shared mission. Afternoons unfolded at a pace yet in a dynamic manner, as participants devoted themselves to updating the Congregation’s database—known among the secretaries as SECLAR—while becoming familiar with the formularies of the General Secretariat.
The course drew to a meaningful close with moments of heartfelt sharing where insights and experiences were pondered. This was followed by a Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Efrén Limpo Lo, CMF, the Secretary General, bringing the entire experience to a prayerful and grace-filled conclusion.
