The 6th of July 2012 remains a great day for the Claretian Missionaries in Cameroon. On this fateful day, the Independent Delegation of Claretian Missionaries was erected during a Pontifical High Mass presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio for Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, Mgr Piero Pioppo.
The Superior General, VRF Josep Maria Abella, cmf was present. In his homily, the Nuncio stressed on the importance of the work of claretian missions in the world and especially in Africa. He invited Cameroonian Claretians to follow the pathway of the Founder, Saint Anthony Claret in Evangelising through all means possible.
After the homily, the rite of the erection proper began. After reading the decrees of the erection of the Delegation in English and in French, the letters of nomination of the major superior and his consultors were read, followed by the reading of our constitutions n°113. Standing right in front of the altar the Major Superior, VRF Michel Archange TIGUI, cmf made his profession of faith.
This occasion in all its solemnity gathered a huge population of our parishioners and members of the claretian family all round Cameroon.
