First Vietnamese Claretian Ordained

Oct 23, 2007 | Ordinations, USA - Canada

USA. In this issue of NUNC, we welcome news of the ordination of our first Vietnamese Claretian priest. Bishop Plácido Rodríguez of Lubbock, Texas, ordained Fr. Quyen Nguyen on August 4 at San Gabriel Mission, which is near Los Angeles, California. There were many parishioners, friends and family members in attendance. At the last minute, arrangements were made for his mother to enter the United States to be present for such a wonderful occasion.

Fr. Nguyen fled Vietnam at the age of eighteen and received his Claretian formation in the United States. Along with our congratulations, we wish him a fruitful ministry, following in the footsteps of our Founder, Fr. Claret.
