Formators Meeting in Mont Ngafula, Kinshasa

by | Mar 1, 2008 | Congo

Dem. Rep. of the Congo. Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, General Prefect of Formation, visited the formation centres of the Congo on February 15-22, 2008. From the 19th until the end he held an encounter with the formators of Central Africa, also attended by the formators of Cameroon and Congo.

Fr. Mathew spoke of the necessity to give an answer to the formative challenges of our time. There was a discussion on several concerns of the formation in the Delegation. Regarding the change of the novitiate, all the formators expressed their opinion that it would be more appropriate to make the novitiate after philosophy. This change should be made with due preparation of some time of pre-philosophy with the accompaniment of well-prepared formators.

The participants in the encounter saw the necessity to update the formation plan for Central Africa and requested the Superior Delegate to initiate the process to do so.
