General Council of Economy Meets at the General Curia

Rome, Italy. From Tuesday, June 2, to Friday, June 5, 2026, the General Council of Economy met at the General Curia to address matters related to the financial administration of the Congregation and to begin preparations for the next General Chapter from the perspective of the Economy sector.

The Council is composed of twelve members representing the different areas of the Congregation. During this meeting, three new members joined the Council: the Provincial Economes of Avemaria and East Nigeria, and the Econome of the Delegation of Kolkata.

In addition to addressing the regular matters related to their service, the participants began the reflection and preparatory work that the Economy sector will contribute to the next General Chapter.

The presence of the new members also provided an opportunity to become better acquainted with several realities connected to the General Government. During the meeting, the Council visited the general communities in Rome and some of the institutions in the city that depend on the General Government.

The meeting strengthened collaboration among the different areas of the Congregation and supported continued progress toward responsible and transparent financial administration at the service of the Claretian mission.
