Online. From 18 to 22 May 2026, during Laudato Si’ Week, the First Workshop for JPIC Coordinators of the Claretian Organisms was held online, organised by the JPIC Secretariat of the General Government. The choice of Laudato Si’ Week gave the gathering a special significance, reinforcing the Congregation’s commitment to justice, peace, and the care of our Common Home.
The workshop brought together participants from 25 Claretian Organisms around the world. An average of 25 participants attended each day, and 19 participants completed the full five-day process. SOMI coordinators from three continental conferences were also consistently present throughout the workshop.
During the week, 10 speakers participated, accompanied by 4 translators and the General JPIC Formation Team, whose members assumed daily responsibility for moderating the workshop and animating the language groups.
The final evaluations especially highlighted the inspiring and practical character of the presentations. Several expressions were repeatedly mentioned by participants: “JPIC is not an addition to the mission,” “JPIC is an essential part of our mission,” and “everything in creation is interconnected.”
One of the most important fruits of the workshop has been the beginning of the process of creating an international network of JPIC coordinators within the Congregation, strengthening collaboration, the use of a common language, the sharing of experiences, and the shared commitment to justice, peace, and the integrity of creation. The workshop also awakened the desire and hope for a Claretian JPIC network capable of having a global impact.
