Seoul, South Korea. The Korean Independent Delegation recently held its annual gathering from February 4 to 6, 2025, bringing together members to reflect on the past year’s mission and set the course for the year ahead. The event served as a significant moment to evaluate the mission’s progress in community, spiritual, apostolic, and economic life, while also embracing the opportunity to celebrate milestones within the delegation.
During the meeting, the members conducted a discernment process for the next group of animators who will take on leadership roles in the coming term. This collective exercise in consultation and reflection reinforced the delegation’s commitment to participatory governance and shared responsibility in the mission.
A reason for great joy during this gathering was the initiation of Mathedio into the postulancy period. His journey marks a new chapter in his vocational formation, as he continues to discern his calling to religious life.
Another highlight of the gathering was the Silver Jubilee celebration of the First Profession of three devoted members of the delegation: Fr. Ee Sun Sung Peter, CMF, Fr. Kim Vianney, CMF, and Fr. Kodinjikallunkal James, CMF. These confreres, having completed 25 years of religious commitment, were honored for their unwavering dedication and service.
During the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Emmanuel Ezhaparampil, CMF, expressed gratitude to the Jubilarians for their fidelity to the Claretian charism. He emphasized the essence of discipleship, urging everyone to embrace the call to forget oneself and follow Christ with renewed zeal each day.
As the Korean Independent Delegation moves forward with renewed vision and enthusiasm, the annual gathering reaffirmed the delegation’s commitment to its mission and the values that continue to inspire its members in their journey of faith and service.
