Chegutu, Zimbabwe: Two Claretians from the Province of Fatima, Fr. Lee Malunga, CMF, and Fr. Kudzai Innocent Tonganai, CMF, were ordained priests on 14 September 2024. The ordination took place at St Francis of Assisi Parish in Chegutu, the home parish of Fr Lee Malunga, and was presided over by His Grace, Most Reverend Robert Christopher Ndlovu, Archbishop of Harare. Fr. Félix Martínez, CMF, Prefect of Formation, and Fr. Manuel Segura, CMF, Provincial Econome, as well as all the Claretians working in the Zimbabwean mission, took part in the celebration. The occasion was an important moment of growth for the Mission and the Congregation as a whole, and the day was filled with joy and celebration.
In the days following the ordination, a thanksgiving Mass was celebrated for Fr. Lee Malunga, CMF, in Chegutu, with many Claretians in attendance, including Fr. Joaquín Béjar, CMF, coordinator of the Zimbabwe Mission, and members of the Mission Council. A thanksgiving Mass was also celebrated at the home of Fr. Kudzai’s family in Bikita, with participants from Gokwe, Harare and other regions.
