Sanyasa Launches Its 25th Academic Year and Silver Jubilee Year

Bengaluru, India.  On Saturday, July 4, 2026, Sanyasa Institute of Consecrated Life inaugurated its 25th academic year and marked the beginning of the Silver Jubilee Year as well, in an elegant ceremony. The Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit was presided over by His Excellency Rev. Arokia Raj Satis Kumar, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Following the Mass, the Act of Inauguration was held. Rev. Fr. Sabu George, CMF the Vice Moderator of the Institute delivered the inaugural address and formally declared the academic year open. His Excellency Satis Kumar, then, lighted the Jubilee Lamp, marking the beginning of the Silver Jubilee Year, in the presence of all the major superiors of ASCLA-West (Asian Claretians – Western Region) who form the Governing Board of Sanyasa, officials of the local chapter of the Conference of Religious India (CRI), other invited guests, institute officials, staff, and students. 

To further mark the launch of the Silver Jubilee, the twelfth title in the Consecrated Life Series published by the Institute was released. The book The Essentials of Consecrated Life: Gift, Mystery, and Mission is authored by Rev. Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, superior general of the Claretian Missionaries together with Rev. Fr. Arul Jesu Robin Muthiah,  CMF, the former director of Sanyasa. The president of ASCLA-West, Fr. Joseph Mappilaparambil, released the book and handed the first copy to the bishop. The events of the day concluded with a celebratory lunch. 

In this academic year, Sanyasa Institute has 8 students for its licentiate in theology of consecrated life (offered under the aegis of the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome) and 30 students for diploma and audit.
