Bengaluru, India. On July 4, 2026, the Sanyasa Institute of Consecrated Life marked the inauguration of its Silver Jubilee Year with the solemn release of The Essentials of Consecrated Life: Gift, Mystery, and Mission — the first full-length book by Rev. Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, Superior General of the Claretian Missionaries, co-authored with Rev. Fr. Arul Jesu Robin Muthiah, former Director of Sanyasa.
The volume, the twelfth in the Consecrated Life Series published by Claretian Publications, Bangalore, on behalf of Sanyasa Institute, was unveiled by Rev. Fr. Joseph Mappilaparambil, President of the Asian Claretians Western Region (ASCLA-West). He presented the first copy to His Excellency Rt. Rev. Arokia Raj Satis Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of Bangalore. Fr. Robin, who is currently professor at Claretianum, offered an introduction to the book via a pre-recorded video message.

This book offers a formative pilgrimage through contemporary religious life—rooted in Scripture, nourished by magisterial teaching, and animated by lived experience. It engages the concrete realities that shape every season of vocation: chastity, obedience, poverty, community, and fidelity. Each chapter weaves together theological reflection, pastoral case studies, and meditative prayer, creating space for both intellectual depth and interior stillness. Speaking with honesty about crisis, freedom, authority, and conflict, it never loses sight of the profound joy that belongs to a life wholly given to Christ. For formees, formators, superiors, and all who seek to rediscover or deepen their vocation, this book is a faithful companion on the journey toward the fullness of love.
