St. Charles Lwanga Delegation Assembly 2020

Nov 4, 2020 | St. Charles Lwanga

Karen, Nairobi. St. Charles Lwanga Independent Delegation began its online General Assembly on November 3, 2020, as a follow-up to the handing over ceremony between the previous Delegation Council to the new Delegation Council on November 1, 2020.

An online Assembly was necessary due to the global impact of Covid-19, which rendered the physical Assembly unfeasible. Fr. Henry Omonisaye, CMF, is the President and host of the Assembly.

Fr. Henry invited Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, General Superior, to address the members. Fr. General expressed his happiness over the virtual meeting and asked the members to be brave enough to face the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Father General gave a reflection on our document “Congregation Going Forth” N°56. He invited all members to reflect on the image of fire, which exemplifies us as Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on fire with love. He highlighted the significance of the three transformation processes, which the Delegation and the whole Congregation is going through.

He further posited some pertinent questions to all members regarding their commitment to the Delegation’s evangelizing mission, the story that you often hear about their Delegation, and their resentments. Then he went on reflecting on the N° 259-287 of Evangelium Nuntiandi.

The Assembly will conclude on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
