Study-Workshop on the Identity of the Lay Educador

Nov 16, 2007 | Claretian Family, Education Ministry

Spain. “During the week of November 5 to 9, more thank forty lay persons from the Claretian Educational Centres of Spain had the opportunity to go more deeply into the identity of the Claretian Educator in a Study-Workshop. They were days of intense personal and group work, which we used to reflect and investigate about the characteristics that define our character and our educative work in this great family. We were helped by the excellent reports of Antoni Vilarrubias, cmf; Antonio Bellella, cmf; Encarna Velasco, rmi and Enrique Martín, who guided us with various documents from our founders to our present context, analyzing the historical evolution of the Claretian Educator. We also had the opportunity to visit and enjoy the places where Claret was born, lived and began his evangelization in this special year when we commemorate the Bicentenary of his birth.
Now we only hope that this effort and determination may be translated into many fruits in our different realities, but with the same purpose to continue evangelizing, like Claret, through Education.
In the Study-Workshop 22 Claretian Educative Centres participated (three did not participate for various reasons), from the three Titular Entities and from all the Provinces.
All in all there were 44 participants (41 lay persons and 3 religious).
Rosa Ruiz, rmi, Juan Lozano, cmf, and José Alberto Socorro were in the organizing team.
