Jogjakarta, Indonesia. On Saturday, April 13, Wisma Scholastic of Claretian Jogjakarta Community had the Taizé prayer with youth. The participants who attended were the young people from East Indonesia, particularly from East Nusa Tenggara Province, who are studying in Jogjakarta Province.
The East Nusa Tenggara youth were enthusiastic with Taizé prayer. They prayed with full peace of heart chanting beautifully together under the guidance of Fr. Valens Agino, CMF and Stu. Aten Dhey, CMF.
Fr. Pankratius Rehi Kandelu, CMF as Superior House welcomed this spiritual event. For him, the Taizé prayer is compatible with the spirit and context of youth. He hoped that the young people from East Nusa Tenggara who are studying in Jogjakarta would getting deeper into their lives from the spiritual aspect.
There was a general appreciation of this spiritual activity for the young people and it is hoped that this will continue. This idea resonated in all the opinions shared by the participants. Therefore, having spiritual events like this for the youths was meant to help them and move their hearts to praise and believe in the presence of God in each of them and they in turn, would share the blessings with others.
