Lima, Perú. From May 4 – 7, twenty-four missionaries from all of Latin America met at the Padre Claret de Chanclayo retreat house in Lima to have the Assembly of the Claretian Interprovincial Confederation of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Assembly worked on the Missionary Project of CICLA, dialogued about reorganization, and discerned on the four priorities presented by the plan of the General Government. They also learned about the planning of the General Prefecture of the Apostolate presented by Fr. Miguel Ángel Velasco.
It was a good opportunity to work on common projects, as well as renewing and cultivating fraternity among the participating Provinces and Delegations.
On Saturday, May 7th, during the morning session, they had the election of the Steering Committee for the 2011-2014 triennium. Re-elected were Alejandro Cerón, Superior of the Province of Mexico, as President, and Fr. Alejandro Quezada, Executive Secretary. In addition, Fr. Juan Carlos Barta, Superior of the Province of Perú –Boliva, was elected Vice-President. (Photos)
