Medellín, Colombia. The electronic version of the “elcolombiano.com” daily newspaper gave an interesting report on the Claretian Community Library which is run by the “Jesús Nazareno” Parish in Medellín. The journalist titled her article: “These books reach to eternal life”.

The director of the Library, Fr. Guillermo Vásquez, CMF and the librarian, Angela María Chica explained the history and the achievements reached over the past 30 years in the services offered.

In the Library, located in an ancient hermitage inside the Parish, has 15,000 catalogued volumes and another 30,000 which are not yet organized for lack of funds. Some of these works have an invaluable worth; incredible treasures, especially in the area of humanities, which have been acquired since its beginnings in 1895. Many of these works have needed to be restored.

The Library continues to receive donations of books and the work of cataloging them takes great effort. The Library, open to the public, receives many visitors to its distinct sections.
