Salvatierra, Spain. On May 12, a large group of people from the Province of Euskal Herria met in Salvatierra to share a day of fraternity and celebrate two important events: the celebration of the Heart of Mary and the 50th Anniversary of the Province.
Fr. Mateo Larrauri, Provincial Superior, welcomed them and led the opening prayer. Then, Fr. Alday shared to them the most significant milestones of the Province in these 50 years: the Province’s origin, apostolic challenges, important stakes, difficulties … 50 years of history in which they looked back grateful for the work done and allowed them to face the future with the hope that the same Spirit will continue to accompany their missionary work.
After a break in the middle of the morning, they enjoyed some time sharing some photos of these 50 years. To finish the morning they celebrated the Eucharist, in which Fr. Mateo encouraged them to continue the missionary work of animation of the faith, closeness to the needy and announcement of Jesus Christ. And all this, like Mary, with warmth, welcome and listening attitude. After taking the souvenir photo they shared a delicious meal (accompanied by a rich wine that Miren Elejalde brought on her birthday) in a family atmosphere, also enlivened with the consequent popular chants. In summary, family day in which they looked grateful to the Provincial history and asked God to continue inspiring their current missionary work.
