Lorsqu’un missionnaire meurt, nous devrions célébrer les derniers sacrements avec dévotion, amour fraternel et simplicité. Nous devrions nous souvenir de tous nos frères qui nous ont précédés au service de l’Évangile, en les recommandant au Seigneur avec les prières prescrites, en particulier lors de la célébration de l’Eucharistie.

Nous devons montrer la même révérence et le même respect pour nos parents décédés et pour les collaborateurs défunts de la Congrégation.

FERNANDO CARDINAL SEBASTIÁN AGUILAR, CMF. DÉCÈDE À L’ÂGE DE 89 ANS
Malaga, Espagne. Fernando Cardinal Sebastián Aguilar, CMF., a décédé, aujourd’hui , 24 janvier, 2019 à l’âge de 89 ans.
Fernando Sebastián Aguilar (Calatayud,1929) fit son entrée à la Congrégation de Missionnaires Fils du Cœur Immaculé de Marie en 1945 et il fut ordonné prêtre en 1953. Il fit ses études de Théologie à Rome et à Louvain, obtenant le doctorat en 1955. Dès 1956 jusqu’en 1979 il centra son activité sur l’étude et l’enseignement de la Théologie Dogmatique, tout d’abord aux Centres de la Congrégation Clarétaine et à partir de 1967 à la Faculté de Théologie de l’Université Pontificale de Salamanque où il fut Doyen de la Faculté et Recteur de l’Université entre 1971 et 1979. En septembre, 1979 il fut consacré Évêque de León . En 1982 il fut élu Secrétaire Général de la Conférence Épiscopale Espagnole, restant dans cette charge jusqu’en 1988. En avril de cette année il fut nommé Archevêque Coadjuteur de Grenade. Il fut Administrateur Apostolique du Diocèse de Malaga. De 1991 à 1993 , En 1993 il fut nommé Archevêque de Pampelune et Évêque de Tudela, sièges desquels devient émérite depuis juillet, 2007. IL fut, également Vice-président de la Conférence Épiscopale entre 1993 et 1999, étant élu à nouveau pour cette charge lors de la période 2002-2005. Il a participé à six Assemblées du Synode des Évêques . En 2001 l0Université Pontificale de Salamanque lui remit la Médaille d’Or en guise de reconnaissance à ses services en tant que Professeur, Doyen, Recteur, et Grand Chancelier. Le pape François le crá cardinal au consistoire qui eut lieu à Rome, le22 février, 2014.
