Dindigul, India. The VIII Provincial Chapter of the Claretian Missionaries of Chennai began on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Claretians-LIFE, Dindigul, in the Tamil Nadu state of India. The Chapter officially began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Henry Omonisaye, CMF, Vicar General of the Congregation, and Chapter President. A bible enthronement followed the Mass.
The Claretian Missionaries of Chennai celebrate their VIII Provincial Chapter from April 18 to 24, 2022, with 44 spirit-filled and reinvigorated Chapter members, including the Chapter President. Chennai Province chose “In Christ, ignited for Mission” as their Chapter theme. It follows the synodal methodology that the XXVI General Chapter used last year in Nemi.
On the second day, the Bishop of Dindigul, Msgr. Thomas Paulsamy celebrated the Eucharist for them. Then they had their mini recollection presided by Fr. Henry himself.
Later, the sexennial reports of the Provincial Government for April 2016 to March 2022 were presented by the Provincial Secretary and the Provincial Prefect of Economy respectively. A report on the development of the Malaysian missions was presented by Fr. Berkmans through a google meet.
The third day of the Chapter began with the thanksgiving Holy Eucharist celebrated by the outgoing Provincial Government. During the homily Fr. Jesu Doss CMF, outgoing Provincial Superior of Chennai, thanked all the members of the Province.
In the chapter hall, Fr. Henry Omonisaye CMF welcomed Fr. Prince Carneelyes CMF, the Malaysian missionary who joined the Chapter on the third day. The groups were asked to continue the discussion on the discovery phase. Then they presented the reports of the discussion and the Provincial Government clarified the questions presented to them. Then the Chapter President introduced the dream phase after which the groups discussed and presented the dreams.
On the fourth day of the VIII Provincial Chapter of the Claretian Missionaries of Chennai Province, Fr. Jesu Doss S., CMF, is reelected as Provincial Superior for the next sexennium 2022 – 2028.
