Meeting of those in charge of Apostolates in Africa

Yaoundé, Cameroon. A meeting was held in this city from September 6th to 10th of 2011 by Claretian prefects and those responsible for Apostolates in Africa.
All the summoned Organisms were represented at the gathering, at which the reality of each was presented with respect to evangelization and the priorities of the Congregational Apostolates.Fr. Miguel Angel Velasco, cmf, General Prefect of Apostolates, was the presider of the encounter, which studied the principal apostolic priorities of the Congregation and of Africa, leading to an important document of conclusions.

The priorities shared at the encounter, which might also be called the most outstanding features of our missionary style in Africa at the moment, were the following: Missionary Approach, JPIC, TIC-Internet, Biblical Ministry, Basic Faith Communities, Shared Mission, Formation of Lay Evangelizers, Youth Ministry, Vocations, and Family Ministry.

The following Claretians are members of the Apostolic Committee for Africa: Anthony AZINTA (English Speaking West Africa), Joy MAPILLIKUNNEL (English Speaking East Africa), Joseph ABANDA (French Speaking Africa), and José ENGONGA (Portuguese – Spanish).
