Morelia, México. Facing the difficult situation of violence and criminality which exists in this country, especially in the State of Michoacán, Archbishop D. Alberto Suárez Inda enjoined the whole Archdiocese to consecrate itself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the day of her liturgical memorial.

The celebration took place simultaneously at all the parishes on June 16, 2012.

The Archbishop decided to hold the main celebration at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the city of Morelia which is led by the Claretian Missionaries. The consecration was made at the end of the eucharistic celebration with the participation of numerous faithful and members of the presbyterate.

The Claretian community prepared for the event with a solemn novena which, in addition to the intentions of the diocese and its Pastor, prayed especially to “restore the peace lost in the hearts, families, villages and cities”.

The Archbishop insisted that this act should involve all the believers who, aware of their identity as children of God, offer themselves to Mary and to commit themselves to a path of conversion that will lead to behavior as true sons and daughters of her Immaculate Heart.
