Nov 2, 2011 | Claretian Family, Fatima, Portugal

Fátima, Portugal. From the 28th to the 29th of October, organized by the Episcopal Commission for Vocations and Ministries in Portugal, the VIII National Forum for vocations was held in Fátima (Portugal). Participating were Bishops Antonio Francisco dos Santos, Bishop of Aveiro in his capacity as President of the Commission of Vocations and Ministries, and Jacinto Tomás Botelho, Bishop of Lamedo.

The presentations were led by Fr. Juan Carlos Martos, CMF, Secretary of Vocation Ministry. Attending were some 200 participants including priests and diocesan seminarians, laity, and religious. Among them were three Claretians from the Province of Portugal and a sister from the Cordimarian Filiation.

The themes revolved around what place the Vocation Ministry ought to have in the New Evangelization and the methodology which the Vocation Ministry should offer. The encounter offered times for joint reflection, and for prayer and communal celebration.

The shared conviction at the end of the encounter was the need to invest in the future involving everyone in all aspects of the Vocation Ministry. (Photos)
