Walking Together for the Mission: Formation Encounter in MICLA 2026

Apr 28, 2026 | MICLA, Formation

Córdoba, Argentina. In a spirit of communion and attentive listening, from April 19 to 24, 2026, the Formation Encounter of MICLA (Claretian Conference of America), accompanied by Fr. Joseph Mbungu, CMF, Prefect General of Formation, brought together Claretian missionaries to deepen their understanding of synodality as a way of life and mission on the continent. More than a space for study, it became a time of fraternal encounter, where formation was lived as a shared experience.

A total of 29 Claretian missionaries — formandi and formator-accompaniers — from different parts of America participated in the gathering. In the light of the Claretian charism, they reflected on the call to walk together, to discern in community, and to respond creatively to today’s pastoral challenges. Synodality was presented not merely as a concept, but as a style that transforms mission and strengthens community life.

Throughout the encounter, both initial and ongoing formation were reaffirmed as a service to the mission, encouraging missionaries to go forth and encounter peoples with renewed hope. In this way, MICLA continues to foster communion and prepare missionaries capable of proclaiming the Gospel with closeness, listening, and commitment.
