“Week of Evangelization” in Curitiba

Nov 8, 2011 | Brasil, Education Ministry, Parish Ministry

Curitiba, Brazil. From the 13 – 23rd of October the Parish of the Heart of Mary in Curitiba lived an intense “week of evangelization”. During this time there were visits to families, praying the rosary, formation of prayer groups in the plazas, with special attention to the Hospital Sugisawa where there was a celebration of the Eucharist. In addition there were other pastoral activities inside the church and “tolls” at the stoplights where people were handed brochures.

The theme behind the mission was: “Whoever Receives You Receives Me” (Mt 10:40). During this one felt the joy and excitement of the lay missionaries who lovingly donated their time and their lives for the cause of Christ. But not only were they were involved, but also many other people, especially those who came to the church and were embraced by the people. In the end, there were testimonies from people who felt desperate and found comfort among the many missionaries of this living Church.

Aware of the ‘thirst for God’ in this society, the parish proposed this ‘Week of Evangelization’ as a means to arouse the missionary spirit of all the baptized and will give continuity to this work by visiting families and promoting moments of prayer, in order to carry the Gospel to every creature.

The ‘Week of Evangelization’ ended with a Mass in honor of St. Anthony Mary Claret and a special blessing.
