Zaragoza, El Salvador. Organisms from across the Americas gathered on August 29 and 30 for the 5th MICLA Continental Assembly of Solidarity and Mission 2026, organized by Provincia de Centroamérica under the theme “Around the Fire.” The gathering offered a space for encounter, discernment, and missionary communion among the participating organisms.
The assembly brought together participants to strengthen bonds of fraternity and reflect together on the missionary journey of the Claretian presence throughout the continent. In keeping with the theme, the gathering emphasized communion and shared mission as participants came together around experiences, cultures, and common commitments.
As part of the program, each organism was given time to prepare its own “Cultural Corner,” offering participants an opportunity to share the cultural richness and diversity represented within MICLA. The activity fostered mutual knowledge and appreciation while highlighting the many expressions of the Claretian mission across the Americas.
Also present at the assembly were Fr. Javier Hernández, CMF, Prefect of Apostolate; Fr. Mauricio Borge, CMF, Provincial of CentroAmerica; and Fr. Antonio Llamas, CMF, General Secretary of JPIC.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Brother Sabas García, CMF, Secretary of MICLA, and Paola Pastor, SOMI Coordinator, shared letters sent by Fr. Fausto Cruz, CMF, President of MICLA, and Fr. Pedro Balderrain, CMF, General Prefect of Apostolate.
