Claretians of the India beging the Chapter

India. Cordial greetings from the Chapter members of the Province of St Thomas, India. We are happy to bring you the minutes of the first day of the Provincial Chapter.

The Second provincial chapter of the St Thomas province of the Claretians began today (4th) at 9.00 at Claretian Provincial House, Karukutty, Angamaly with a half day reflection animated by Rev. Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, General Prefect of Formation, the President of the Chapter. There are 27 members in the chapter.

At 11.30 we had concelebrated Holy Mass. The official inauguration of the chapter was at 3.00 p.m. The chapter president by lit the lamb. He explained the canonical implications and formalities of the chapter. The message of Fr. General also was read thereafter.
In this session different committees were formed and the responsibilities were assigned to them. Fr. George Pettayil was elected as Chapter Secretary. At 6.00 p.m. the members assembled for the 2nd session. The main agenda of this session was the presentation of the Provincial government report by the Fr. James, the provincial secretary and the economic report by Fr. Jose Pulinkunnel, the provincial econome.

The Members were divided into four groups and group discussions were held at 9.00 p.m.
